PODCAST RECORDING: Podcasting has become popular more recently, due to the fact that it’s an inexpensive way of getting your opinion out there into the ether. There’s a lot of competition to be heard though, so to be competitive, in the very least, make sure it’s recorded in a quiet space with some sort of acoustic treatment, to prevent both outside noise, as well as the reverb / bass elements of the room itself, from spilling into the recording. MUSIC / BANDS / SOLO ACTS: In addition to offering the traditional methods of tracking instruments separately, the studio has been designed to accommodate & record a “live” performance. The guitar amps can go in the isolation boxes, the bass rig can be mic’d up in the sound-lock & the lead vocalist can be in the control room. The plan is to ensure that the mic’d instruments don’t spill into each others tracks. Most of the band can be in the recording room ….. in an attempt to allow for visual interaction & thus help to capture the energy of a fully live performance. It’s a cool option for bands wanting a product that represents them live. It’s also a cheaper option.
MIXING: Possibly the most demanding stage of a production & can be the most time consuming. Tracks are equalised, compressed, panned & reverb & ambience is added etc. It’s the last opportunity to fix any pitching, phase & other technical problems prior to mastering. It’s where the advantages of having both a high-end system like Avid’s ProTools – & someone with the skills & experience to drive it – emerge. With digital audio workstations, you can effectively see the sound – as a waveform – making it easier to identify / plot / & fix pitch & rhythmic problems.

DDP CREATION: Do you require a DDP file? DDP Creator lets us create the files required by CD pressing plants to produce your professional RedBook compatible audio CD’s.
AUDIO RESTORATION: Old 78 records collect enough scratches & debris over the years that can completely ruin the original sound. Tapes made of family members from years ago, that for one reason or another lack the sonic quality to be clearly understood, can be de-crackled, de-hissed & cleaned up. We can even enhance certain elements of a recorded conversation & make it more readily understood, & then transfer the audio to iPod/CD/DAT/cassette; any requested format.

ON-HOLD TELEPHONE MESSAGES: Over the last few years we have recorded hundreds of telephone messages for various companies around Australia, & have access to some of the best voice talent in town. The final audio message can be converted to whatever format you require.
PITCH/TEMPO CHANGE: We can now successfully adjust the tempo of a song without changing the pitch, or change the pitch without altering the tempo. In recent years, significant improvements have been made in this field. Previously, this process often introduced unwanted artefacts, now, providing the request is not too radical we should be able to achieve a desired result.
TRANSFER: We can transfer your old cassettes, records (33’s, 45’s and 78’s) & DAT (Digital Audio Tape) recordings to a more current format. In most cases, while we are at it, we will also to attempt enhance the quality of the end product.
